“Sunday Services with Brian Hurlburt” is a public Facebook group started 2018 for those who, for whatever reason, don’t otherwise attend.
We believe Whoever Will May Come. Our FaceBook Group is located at https://www.facebook.com/groups/SundayServicesWithBrianHurlburt
Well, this is a little embarrassing, sort of! Although I think it’s God’s way of keeping me humble! When I was just doing this on FaceBook it wasn’t too bad. Although it may have seemed like a bit of a cop-out! It really wasn’t. It’s the Leading of the Spirit.
See, itd be easier for me just to hang up a sign that said …
After all that’d mean I was taking a day off. Simple, easy peasy! Right!?
I’ve taken days off, in fact I’ve even missed a day when I plumb forgot and even posted a whole Service on a Saturday when I got my days mixed up! So, this is none of those!
No, it’s simply, when I’m led to do something I always try to do it!
Now, I know how arrogant that sounds, and that makes it more difficult for me!
I promise it’s not that! I may be wrong, and now that I’ve extended this Ministry to Substack and Medium, it’d be easier to just post a Gone Fishing Sign!
However, perhaps, God is suing this to keep me humble!
Or perhaps, He’s using it to teach others that it’s important to listen, and not only listen, but to act on the things that we small voice says! Ok, now You’ll think I’m hearing voices! What a Loon!
No, it’s more than that, I believe when we’re in tune with the Spirit, God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit, He speaks to us. Guides us, sometimes it’s a feeling, sometimes it’s our gut, sometimes it’s like a wee small voice that is inside us. It’s not Nuts! It’s God!
So, whether it’s taking an alternate route while driving, not going somewhere when we want to, or (in this case) writing an explanation of why we’re having Sing Along instead of just posting a Gone Fishing Sign!
For me it’s about obedience, it’s about humility, and it’s about my own growth!
I’m no better than You, nor anyone else. As Paul said, I’m chief among Sinners!
However, I’ve come to learn that trusting God in little ways, sometimes silly ways, or ways that seem like silly ways to me, it helps me become better! Sometimes it is a little embarrassing, or humbling, but sometimes it leads to greater things than might have been otherwise!
For me, it’s learning to trust! To trust
So, let’s start our sing-along with …
Then continue with this …
Now I think He’s just playing with me! I searched YouTube for “Sing along hymn sing”
The video above is entitled…
When the Saints Go Marching In | Hymn with Lyrics | Dementia friendly
Now, tell me God doesn’t have a sense of humour!
