You might be wondering…
What the heck is an Easter Egger Rooster!?
you might also be asking…
I thought Rooters didn’t lay eggs!?
Well, You’re Right! Sort of!
Roosters do not Lay Eggs! However, they can help increase the likelihood of their offspring’s Eggs!
Before I go on, let’s look at three, well, sort of there different types of Coloured Egg Layers. Those that Lay Blue, Pink, and Sometimes Green Eggs!
Let’s look first at the Aracuana that according to Backyard Poultry lay Blue Eggs.
In this area it’ll probably cost about $40 for an Araucana.
If You breed an Araucana to another breed of chicken their offspring will have coloured eggs, but of a lighter colour. They are known as Easter Egger Chickens.
There are people who will also give you a great deal on an Aracana! Notice it’s spelled without the “U” that You see in Araucana. You’ll some times see Aracana Chickens listed at about $20-$30. Good deal right, still get coloured eggs, but not as expensive as the Araucana with the “U”. Well, They got “U”. Actually, They Got You!
See, the ones selling Aracana Chickens are actually selling You an Easter Egger! Easter Eggers typically sell for $10-$15 and so that great deal you just got on that Aracana! Wasn’t really such a great deal! They sold You an Easter Egger, They told You was an Aracana, for $20-$30 was actually an Easter Egger and worth about $10-$15. So, They Got You! Actually, what they’re doing is legal, but not necessarily ethical!
Anyway, that brings me to our Easter Egger Roosters! Which Do Not Lay Eggs!
These are both Aracana Roosters. Also known as Easter Egger Chickens. Or Roosters.
Now, there are legitimately people who call both Easter Eggers and Araucana Chicken, Aracana! Confused Yet?
Anyway, that last photo, and this photo are a few of the Easter Eggers Roosters we have available for purchase at Briden Farm.
