Let’s start with a visit to my 700 lb Girlfriend, Lara!
Then, a little further Along the Trail at #BridenFarm we’ll take a little peek at our Ram Lambs…
Sidekick and Lamb Chop!
From there, let’s have a look at this Rooster Tractor.
Look really close and You’ll see one of the Roosters…
All of our Roosters are pretty tame, I take time to talk to them, and have over Wintered them. Trying to find them good homes that’ll appreciate a tame Rooster. We only have three of these beautiful boys left…
Not sure You can see it in this picture, but these aren’t just tame Roosters, these are Easter Egger Roosters! If You’re looking for a tame, flock protector, whose chicks will have a propensity to lay coloured eggs, then give Brian a call at 902-907-0770.
In between separating the Ram Lambs from the Flock, so we don’t have any accidental, or unexpected , mishaps with the Ewes, we moved the Rams to an inclosure. While there I took the gas trimmer and trimmed some of the grass and forage growing here …
You can probably see a couple of things here, one is the line where I trimmed, and the other is that I didn’t trim the grass all the way to the ground. We had our male Goats in here about a month ago. Can’t remember exactly how long, so erring on the side of caution I tried to leave the bottom few inches of the grass uncut. That’s because that’s where the parasites, if any, usually hang out, and the parasites (worms) from the Goats can infect the sheep. However, by the Rams not being on this ground, and just having the top portion, and not the lower growth, of the plants, it helps insure there will be no transfer of parasites to our Rams. Also, because our Rams are now separated from our Ewes for the next 90 days or so, till after Remembrance Day on November 11th, I’ll have plenty of time to insure the rams don’t infect the ewes, if there are any parasites present. That’s a gift the Ewes don’t want! It’s pretty low risk!
Just to the left of this little field is where our Boar Pigs are located…
These boys, a Berkshire and Tamworth mix, are a little more than a year old and are shaping up nicely. We hope to breed them to Lara and her daughters come Winter. If You are thinking of getting piglets next Spring, please let us know You’d like to get on our Waiting List. Call Brian at 902-907-0770
Not far from the Boars, and a little closer to the house, we have about 30 Royal Palm Turkey Poults.
These are currently for sale and We’re asking $20 each, or 6 for $100. Interested?
After that, I returned to the main part of the yard, near the chicken coop, where we see a couple Muscovy Ducks and a few members of our personal mixed flock of truly free ranging chickens. I like to say our Eggs are Naturally Laid! lol ;)
After all that we took a drive down our Laneway to see our Deer Friend…
I think this may possibly be the Mom, or maybe older sister, of the little Fawn who ran by our Predator Cam a week or so ago on our Sheep Pasture in the field where our Doe goats and Ewe sheep are now. I’ll show You some photos of them next time …

I recently created these Postcards at the request of our Bear River Visitor Information Center. They asked us for something they could distribute to help bring us some Visitors. We hope to have them available by July 26, 2025 for the Cherry Carnival!
Here’s the reverse side …
